The Timeline

Deadline to submit your art.

Friday 8^th September 2023

1pm-5pm – register, deliver your art piece. We will choose at Mt Gravatt Showground to hang or lay down your art piece

Saturday 9^th September 2023

Judging will be carried out during the morning.

4-5 pm collect your art piece if you are collecting them personally or by nominated person. We will not organise postage this year. Apology for the inconvenience.

The Art

1. Inform Deaf Festival Art competition convenor of your interest in participation of the art competition – fill in the art competition entry form and email to artcompetition@deaffestivalqld.com.au 
2. Put the collection together -choose works that are consistent and go along well
3. Take good pictures –these would come in handy for reference
4. Final touches – make sure the work is perfect. Check if the edges need painting
5. get the works framed – the frame is an extension to your art, so choose it carefully 
6. Pack up artwork for delivery  – pack your work properly to avoid damage
7. You will arrive Deaf Festival and hang up them yourself* – You will arrive on Friday 8th September 2023 in the afternoon and hang up your exhibition pieces yourself in the designated areas. 
8. You will pack away your art pieces yourself * – You will collect and pack your own art pieces at 4pm on Sunday 10th September, 2023.

* If you physically could not be there to hang it/them up or take it/them home. Please contact on artcompetition@deaffestivalqld.com.au for alternative options. 

The Artist

1. Prepare personal information – send in a brief about yourself statement to the gallery
2. Prepare yourself mentally – don’t mind the criticism and be ready to talk about your art
3. Enjoy – you have already done a great job and enjoy your exhibition and Deaf Festi
